I attended the CWU Women's meeting in Preston on the 10th July. I was there to do a presentation on Musculoskeletal Disorder in front of the committee. Supported by two props from the Women's Conference in November in Belfast, about bullying and harassment.
The guest committee member at the Preston event was John from the TUC UCL he found it very interesting how women in the workplace are playing an active role within the union and the activities we take part in. Our branch is a very example of this. We have many female Union Reps and Officers on different committees and now Tracey Griffiths is the new Bootle Financial Services Secretary.
Victoria Westerman was the guest speaker from BT.
A new women's pack was shown, which this committee designed and will be sent out later this year to all female members.
The next meeting will be held at Santander, Bootle on October 16th.
